About Dr. Matthew Szymanski, DPT
Matt Szymanski is Rebound’s newest Performance Physical Therapist. Matt’s interest in fitness, performance, and rehabilitation developed during his time as a CrossFit coach, where he enjoyed the challenge of working with athletes exhibiting limitations or managing injuries. This inspired him to quit his job as a civil engineer and go back to Physical Therapy School, allowing him to follow his passion for helping people move better, stay out of pain, and live active and fulfilling lives.
Matt graduated from UConn’s DPT program in 2021 and started his PT career down in Alexandria, VA where he worked at SPARK Physiotherapy, Northern VA’s premier performance PT facility. There, he honed his skills working with athletes and motivated movers of all ages.
His clinical training includes advanced dry needling through Myopain Seminars where he earned his Certified Myofascial Trigger Point Therapist certification, along with the Performance Rehab Authority certification, and Clinical Management of the Fitness Athlete training through ICE Physio.
In his free time, Matt enjoys being active with his wife, Melissa, and two dogs, Cooper and Kip. He is an avid CrossFitter, and also enjoys running, rucking, and hiking with his family. When he finally stops moving, he’s probably in the kitchen baking sourdough bread, playing Dungeons and Dragons, watching the Great British Baking Show or reading an epic fantasy novel.
